Dr Phil is psychology was the example set by his father Joe, who returned to school to study psychology at 40. He inherited his father's fierce independence and restless nature. As a 6-foot-4 inch, 174-pound high school linebacker in Kansas City, KS, he won a football scholarship to the University of Tulsa. But his playing days ended in his sophomore year, after he injured his head and neck on the field.
Phillip Calvin McGraw, better-known as Dr. Phil, is an American TV personality, author and former psychologist with an estimated net worth of $200 million. He was born in Vinito, Oklahoma in January, 1950, but currently resides in Beverly Hills, California. In his youth, Dr. Phil won a football scholarship to the University of Tulsa, played middle linebacker and was on the team when it lost to the University of Houston by the score of 100-6, one of the most lopsided scores in NCAA history. In 1990, he founded CSI (Courtroom Sciences, Inc.) an organization that advised corporations and individual plaintiffs how to achieve settlements.
