Ryan Villopoto born August 13, 1988 in Fortuna, California, resident in Poulsbo, Washington is a motocross and supercross champion who currently competes in the AMA Supercross series and the AMA Lucas Oil Motocross series. He resides in Murrieta California and races for the Monster Energy Kawasaki team.
The 2011 season has been a five way battle between Villopoto, James Stewart, Jr., Chad Reed, Ryan Dungey and Trey Canard. Villopoto has been consistent with the exception of round 11 where he failed to qualify, crashing in both his heat race and the Last Chance Qualifier. On May 7, 2011, Villopoto won the 2011 Supercross Championship by a margin of 4 points over Reed 338-334.
